Do I require a visa to visit Malawi?
Most travellers will require a Visa to visit Malawi including passport holders from Australia, New Zealand, United States, UK, Canada, Hong Kong, China, EU Countries, Brazil and others The list of countries who’s passport holders do not require VISA are listed at the bottom of this page.
Can I obtain a Visa in Malawi or do I have to apply for it prior to travel?
It is possible to obtain a visa on arrival in Malawi at major airports and border crossings (during business hours.) However for convenience and peace of mind it is recommended to obtain your VISA prior to travel to Malawi.
How long does the application process take?
Most applications are approved within 24 hours. Once approved you will send your passport to the Consulate in your region to be stamped. Passport holders not required to have a VISA prior to arrival in country include:
